You can arrange a private cooking lesson with Chef Luigi Gandola who will meet you in your hotel lobby, post office or ferry port in Bellagio at 10.00 a.m. You will t hen travel to his family’s restaurant the “Salice Blu.”
Once you arrive at the restaurant you can take a moment to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with Luigi before visiting his herb garden which is situated behind the restaurant kitchens.
The cooking lesson begins at 10.30 a.m and you can assist Chef Luigi in making home made pasta, risotto and the a lovely dessert of tiramisu (tira/mi/su translates into ‘pull me up’). All dishes are made with fresh local produce from the market. After all your hard work, you can sit down and enjoy the dishes that you have made for lunch.
At the end of the cooking lesson you will receive a certificate of participation and an English translation of the recipes as well as a present of a 100ml bottle of olive oil. The class finishes around 2.00 p.m. thereafter you will be taken back to your meeting point in Bellagio.
