Scuba Diving (Scuba which stands for Self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) can be a great recreational sport. It is a fantastic way to explore lakes, seas and oceans and find out what lurks beneath the surface; caves, old ship wrecks and of course to see the underwater wildlife.
Not only is scuba diving a leisure pursuit, for many people it is a professional job; underwater photographers, underwater filming for documentaries, scientific diving for research, underwater archaeology, police divers (needed for search and recovery operations), military divers (needed for year for military missions).
Explore the underwater world of Lake Como and go scuba diving in one of the deepest lakes in Europe (410 metres at deepest point). Please note that it is possible for asthma sufferers to scuba dive depending on the severity of their asthma and how often they have had asthma attacks. If you do suffer from asthma, please be sure to check with your doctor and also the Scuba Diving School that you plan to book with. For open water scuba diving, the minimum age is normally 10 years old.
Please note that there are also scuba diving schools in Milan that may do courses in Lake Como as well as at sea.
