Castle Breno is approximately a two and a half hour drive from the town of Como (depending on which route you take and also traffic). The castle is composed of numerous buildings that were constructed over the the centuries and now integrate into the hill on which the castle sits atop. The castle is steeped in history, going back to the time of Federico Barbarossa (1100-1200).
Your visits starts from the tower-door near the entrance of the castle, which then leads onto the courtyard. The medieval church which is the most ancient monument is to the left of the courtyard. There are many areas to explore and there is also the great tower from where you can have a spectacular panoramic view.
