The hotel is situated in a prime spot right on the lakefront in the medieval part of Varenna. Built in 1823 it was refurbished and opened as an hotel in the 20th century.
Hotel du Lac is ideally located, a short walk takes you to the ferry terminal where you can take a relaxing trip across the lake to visit Bellagio, Menaggio and Cadenabbia. You are also within walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants.
Rooms are very clean and spacious and are elegantly furnished. The hotel has a lovely bar and terrace area where you can sit back and relax with a nice glass of wine and enjoy the view.
